| Setting up your Internet Account - Internet Explorer 1. Turn on your computer. If your computer is on already, make sure you have closed any
other running programs. (Note: If you have an icon called MSN Internet Setup, you
must delete it in order to setup your account with ArdenNet.)
2. Find an icon called [Connect to the Internet] at your computer desktop
and double-click on it. Go to Step #3

If you cannot find the [Connect to the Internet] icon, go to Option 1 or
Option 2
depending on your system.
Option 1: Click on the [Start] button, [Accessories],
[Internet Tools], then [Internet
Connection Wizard].
Option 2: Click on the [Start] button, [Programs],
[Internet Explorer], then [Connection Wizard].

3.. A pop-up window called [Internet Connection Wizard] will be launched. You will be given
three options.
Select the third option stated "I want to setup my Internet connection
manually...". Click [Next].
4. At the next window, you will be given two options. Choose the first option stated,
"I connect through a phone line and a modem." Click [Next].

5. Next window, "Type the phone number you dial to connect to your ISP." Type in
the phone number listed on you Account Information Sheet, then uncheck the box "Dial
using the area code and country code." Click [Next]. Go to Step #6

Depending on your system configuration, a setup screen may pop up and ask you to do a
modem setup. After you finish setting up your modem, go to Step #6.
If your computer has been setup with Internet service already, you may come across a
window called "Dial-Up Connection.". Select the first option
"Create a new dial-up connection". Click [Next]. Go to Step #6
6. Next window will ask for your "User Name and Password." Type in your <User
Name> (e.g.i000288) and <Account Password> EXACTLY as listed on your Account
Information Sheet.

Depending on your system configuration, another window that may come up is
"Advanced Settings".
a. "Do you want to change advanved settings for this connection?" Click
"No" [Next].
b. At the "IP Address" window, select the first option, "My Internet
service provider automatically assigns me one." Click [Next].
7. Next window will ask for a connection name. You may use the default name or change it
to ArdenNet. This is used to label and identify the connection.

You have now successfully setup the Dial-up portion of the account. The next
section will help you setup your E-mail program to allow you to send and receive mail.
Setting up your E-mail Account (Outlook Express) - Windows 98
1. At the "Set Up Your Internet Mail Account" window, select "Yes" if
you want the Internet Connection Wizard to setup your e-mail service using Outlook
Express.

If "Yes," select [Yes] and click [Next]. Go to Step 2.
If "No", select [No] and click [Next] and skip to the next section.
2. At the "Your Name" window, type in your name the way you want it to appear on
your e-mail messages. Click [Next].
3. At the "Internet E-mail Address" window, type in your given e-mail address
according to the Account Information Sheet. Click [Next].

4. At the "E-mail Server Names" window, make sure the "My
incoming mail server" is "POP3." Type in the POP3 mail server according to
your Account Information Sheet for the "Incoming mail" server. Type in the
SMTP mail server according to your Account Information Sheet for the "Outgoing
mail" server.
Enter the information below, unless specified otherwise.
Incoming: "pop.ardennet.com"
Outgoing: "smtp.ardennet.com"
Click [Next].

5. At the "Internet Mail Logon" window, Type in the E-mail User
Name according to your Account Information Sheet stated as "Account name."
Type in the E-mail Password according to your Account Information Sheet stated as
"Password." Make sure the "Remember password" box is checked.
Click [Next].

6. At the "Friendly Name" window, type "ArdenNet Mail" as the name for
your e-mail configuration. Click [Next].
Finishing Internet Setup - Windows 98
1. The following screen may or may not popup depending on your system configuration.
At the "Set Up Your Internet Directory Service" window, select "No".
Click [Next].
2. Click [Finish] at the "Complete Configuration" window.
3. The "Internet Connection Wizard" window will close and you may be asked to
restart your computer.
After your computer restarts, two new icons, "Internet Explorer" and
"Outlook Express" are now on your Windows 98 desktop.

4. Double-click on the "My Computer" icon, then "Dial-Up Networking".

5. Right-click on the "ArdenNet" icon and select "Properties".

6. Click
on the [Server Types] tab. Make sure to uncheck the "Log on to network" and
"Enable software compression" boxes, then click [OK].
7. You may now click on "Internet Explorer" on the desktop to test-drive your
ArdenNet Internet connection.
8. Once your connection is established successfully, your Internet Explorer will load
Microsoft's MSN web page as the default start page. You can manually switch to ArdenNet's
Internet Services web page. Go to www.arden.net. Once the page is loaded, go to the FAQs
section and look under the Internet Browser section.
9. If you experience problems connecting to the Internet, restart your computer and try
